On Saturdays I spend my day working with horses at the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation. I love horses. I also love the fact that my eldest grandchild shares the same interest and comes with me!

We work hard but we do it together. I believe God is saying, “That’s cool!” I made you. I made horses. You are enjoying the life I gave you with the gift of doing something you like with the people you love.

I don’t need to be doing something “spiritual” to please Him, to bring glory to Him. When I use the gifts/interests he gave me, I make Him happy.

When you, correctly, use the gifts He gave you, God gets the glory. You cannot please God with gifts/interests you do not have.  I do not surf; therefore this is not my gift. But someone is bringing glory to Him when catching a wave, the wave He created.

I learned in the Bible that the root word for “joy” and “gift” is the same Greek word – “grace.” Using your grace-given gifts brings joy because you are doing what you are created to do.
