Greetings!

Recently while perusing a daily devotional book, “Seasons of Reflection” given to me by my Husband, Bill, in 1996, I came across a marginal note I had written beside “Be still and know that I am God” in Psa. 46:10. My notation literally jumped off the page. It simply said,

“I MUST BE STILL SO I CAN STILL BE!”

I don’t remember what in particular I had faced that day in 1996, but to be honest with you, I think I need that word now more than ever.

Life is perpetually loud! The disconcerting cacophony of sounds and circumstances incessantly swirling around our heads these days can deafen even the best of us to what God is saying. It can paralyze us and keep us nonfunctional, so to speak, in contrast to what God purposed for us to be on Planet Earth.

I trust this gem will undergird you – perhaps even rescue you – throughout 2016. I’m amping it up with other scripture and songs just in case you need to speak or sing the message to your ‘self’ as much as I do.

Isa. 30:15: “In quietness…there is strength.

Lyrics from the old song by: Katherina vonSchlegel published in 1697!

           Be still my soul,

The Lord is on thy side…

…In every change, He faithful will remain

Zeph. 3: 17: He will quiet you with his love.

Psa. 37:7: Be still before the Lord…

Psa. 23:2 He Leads me beside still waters

From the Song, “Still” by: Reuben Morgan published in 2002.

“When the oceans rise and thunders roar,

I will be still and know you are God.”

…A “Selah!” word, indeed, for such a time as this!
