Jeremiah 29:11-12
It is more effective to “PRAY FOR” than to “TALK ABOUT!”
Did that get your attention? Do you get what I’m talking about? This is for both parents and children.
What do we know about prayer? We know how to pray for someone’s healing, or for someone to do well at work or in school. We know how to pray for the gift of food. These are all fantastic prayers, but…those aren’t the type of prayers I’m talking about.
I’m talking about positive prayers. Encouraging prayers. Prayers made with Joy. (Philippians 1:4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy.) Positive prayer can make a difference in someone else’s life.
Do you want to know the quickest way to change a bad relationship into a good one? Start praying for the other person! It will change both them and you.
When someone is not behaving the way they should, when your feelings get hurt or some injustice is done, STOP BEING ANGRY, SAD OR FRUSTRATED AND START PRAYING!
Yes, this advice is for parents AND children. Parents have the privilege and responsibility to teach their children to pray. It isn’t hard when you start at an early age. It is not enough to tell the children to do it; parents should encourage them and pray with them.
Teach your children it is far more effective to “PRAY FOR” than it is to “TALK ABOUT!” Encourage them to pray that their classmates will grow in love, that they will make wise choices, that they will live with integrity and that they will become like Jesus!
Our children, righteous seed, are born with intercession in their spiritual DNA. Prayer is the job. They are God’s way to get it done. PRAYER. YOU’RE THE APP FOR THAT!
Let’s empower the app in them to pray prayers that will change the world around them and beyond!
