Good Shepherd Primary School – Masaka, Uganda
These are the faces of some of our newest World Shapers!
Head Teacher, John Ssentamu, was searching the internet looking for information on children and prayer. What he/we got was a God Connection – AND, an answer to the prayers of our Boone, NC WSC!
John reached out to ENI via our website (Thank you, Chris for getting us out there again!) and we have been sharing with and encouraging each other ever since. We’ve traded email, text messages and videos. John’s video of the girls of GSPS singing, “I have decided to follow Jesus” has locked them and Uganda in my heart. I think you will feel the same.
The school was founded in 2013 and runs from Kindergarten to Primary (which, I think, is equivalent to High School) with a total of 183 children, 8 teachers and two non-teaching staff.
John shares their prayer requests:
Our prayer request is to see that all people that have a role to play in the growth of children, take it on diligently through engaging children in prayer and praying for themselves to be strong stewards in their different roles.
As a school, we need prayers so that God brings more people to support us as we enter into phase three of development at school. We are now getting into finding resources to construct permanent structures for the school. We also need a chapel at school.
The secret to the steady and gradual process has been tagging our plans to God through prayers.
I know we will all be hearing much more from Esther’s Prayer Brigade in Uganda! Please welcome and pray for them.
Mary
P.S. On December 30th, I received notice from Head Teacher, John, that God is already in the process of answering their prayers for a Chapel! A gentleman has told the school that, if a suitable space can be found for it’s construction, his Mother is ready to pay for the construction of the Chapel. Thank you, Jesus! Head Teacher, John, says this is part of the “first fruits” of their becoming part of World Shapers Club and praying for others around the world.
