William “Bill” Tome

Our relationship lasted for many years, but this was one of those special relationships that went deeper because we just “connected.

Even though we came from different parts of the country and had different backgrounds, it was just a God-thing that caused a connection that time or miles could not change. Before Bill and Mary moved to NC, we spent time together over lunch or on the phone and at Church where he served as an Elder and played the piano in our worship services. We laughed a lot. Bill also was my personal confidant. I trusted him. He faithfully shared church responsibilities with me and was always available for me to talk with him. Being busy with his own business never interfered with our getting together regularly. After Bill moved, we talked on the phone often and prayed together every Sunday morning. As a pastor, there are just not many people with whom one can have this close a relationship.

Thank You, God, for giving me this kind of friend in Bill.
