OBITUARY: William Andrew Tome

August 29, 1947 – August 22, 2018

 

 

William (Bill) A. Tome, son of Maurice U. Tome and Dorothy Dutch Tome was born in Trenton, NJ and entered Heaven early Wednesday morning, August 22, 2018 at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.

Having had his Mother, Father and Stepfather, W. Thomas Cummings, all proceed him to Heaven, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Tome (Mary Jeanne Wenczel of Trenton, NJ) and three sons: Christopher, wife Christy, of Charleston, WV; Jeffrey, wife Mary, of Rivas-Tolla, Nicaragua; Kevin, of Richmond, VA, and his seven beloved grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, Karissa, Jakob, David, Dorothy and William Tome.

In addition: his brother, Maury Tome and wife Karen of Pennington, NJ; his niece Jennifer Tome Berry, husband Jeffrey and family of Yardley, PA; nephew Maurice Tome, wife Whitney and family of Washington, D.C.; his sister Suzanne Tome Fenlason of Candler, NC.

Bill was a 1964 graduate of Neshaminy High School, Neshaminy, PA. He attended the US Military Academy (West Point, NY), the University of Pittsburgh and graduated, with honors, from Rider College (Trenton, NJ) in 1970 with a degree in Political Science.

In 2015 he was inducted into the Neshaminy High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his world-class swimming career that spanned his High School and College careers.

A keen intellect led him to write software for the durable medical equipment industry. His successful business supported numerous (well respected) clients for over 30 years.

His love for Jesus and music led him to participate in several worship groups in churches and prayer ministries for more than 30 years. He was Head Elder at Lighthouse Christian Center Intn’l in WPB, FL for many years.

A memorial service will be held at Appalachian House of Prayer (1586 Old Hwy 421 Boone, NC 28607) on Saturday, September 15th at 1 P.M. A family service and internment will be held at a later date at Ewing Church Cemetery in Ewing, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to: Esther Network International – a global, Christian prayer ministry with a strong emphasis on children and prayer in which Bill participated for 30 years.
