Ahhh! There were spiritual lessons to be learned before, during and after the visit of Hurricane Irma. We were left for days without electricity in south Florida’s sweltering 90+ degree temperatures and, alas, no moonlit nights. Not one Power Bank or Generator could be found anywhere in the city! It would have been too late anyway as they both would have needed servicing beforehand.

Hence, here are my thoughts about the experience that I’ve entitled

“’Power!’ Outages….SELAH”

Early on, the spiritual learning process began marinating in my spirit. Assuming you already know where I’m headed, I’ll skip the long version and get right to the point.

Even while remaining reasonably cheerful and willingly ministering to others during the storm, I experienced waves of feeling lethargic, disconnected, unproductive, totally helpless, frustrated, restless, remote and, ”powerless.”

So, I had a “discussion” with God about it and, of course, He had the last word. I wisely decided it was time to ditch my carnal moments and declare this rather light-hearted (but authentic) message to our world of concerned people:

We are “COOL CHRISTIANS”

and, we’ve got “THE POWER!”

On the eighth day, September 14th, at 12:44 A.M., we were awakened by the welcome sound and feel of the A/C! We turned on every light in the house just for the fun of it. HALLELUJAH! We basked. Believe me!

My take on it is clear enough. Yes, indeed, it’s of utmost importance that we check often for tell-tale signs of any personal, spiritual “POWER” outages on the horizon like those I felt in the natural…and more. We’d better be sure that in all circumstances and at all times our spiritual “Power Bank” and “Generator” are in “ready” mode. Better yet, just stay consistently (em)powered by the Holy Spirit.

So, dear reader, I reiterate my message:

BE A “COOL CHRISTIAN” AND ALWAYS POSSESS “THE POWER”…

…for such a (mandatory!) time as this,

Esther
