It’s CHRISTmas time!

I cannot help but think of the Christ Child – God incarnate – sent to a lost and sin-suffering world because of the love of the Father. God’s special-delivery Christmas gift to us – a child – His only Son!

You and I have heard the joyful song, recognized the babe in the manger and received God’s precious gift – salvation through the birth, death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord, Jesus Christ. What about those who are waiting to “hear?”

Romans 10:14-17 highlights the plight of God’s creation without a witness of this precious gift.

But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent “to do it? “

In John 20:20, Jesus tells us that we, too, are sent ones. “…Just as the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Mark 16:15-16 says we have been sent to the world. Imagine that – the whole world! And, in Matthew 28:19 we are urged to preach the Gospel and make disciples. “So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

I am challenging myself, and all of you, to be (even more) intentional this next year in personally sharing the gift of Jesus with others. Yes, we PRAYMORE but, may we DOMORE & SEEMORE, too!

Let us go (even more) into (our) world (Mark 16:15-16)…and be the “sent ones.”  Earth is groaning…(Rom 8:19)

Christmas Blessings!

Mary
