December was the first meeting of our new WSC Directors in Uganda. I think you can tell from the smiles on their faces that it was a good one! Ambassador John Ssentamu and Jane Nakalema (both of Good Shepherd Primary School) led the meeting.

In addition to the Directors appointed in October, attendees included a new Director from a local orphanage and one…well, one which brought tears to both Esther and me.

Most of our efforts had been (at the invitation of the Anglican Church) establishing Clubs in schools. The day prior to the Directors’ meeting, Gertrude Ssentamu (wife of John), announced to her husband that she would be attending as the Director of a “Community World Shapers Club” as the Holy Spirit had moved on her to work with the children of the community of Katwadde who are not able to attend school. No child left out! Don’t you just love how the Holy Spirit works?!!  A big, “THANK YOU!” to all the Directors who have “Caught the Vision!”

There were some wonderful testimonies shared which encouraged each of the Directors and, I know, will do so for you, too:

  1. One of the Clubs prayed for shoes…DONE!
  2. In one of the Clubs, a member was in some type of an abusive/dangerous situation. DONE/DELIVERED!
  3. Parents reported to the Directors that children are better behaved at home and at school. They are asking, “What happened to my child?”
  4. Parents no longer have to “chase them down” to get the children to pray!
  5. Teachers report the children are better behaved in school.
  6. Children quickly grasped the prayer calendar and can do it on their own but, they remind the teachers about it!
  7. Our first “Community Club” (Kaziru where there is no church/school) saw a local law overturned which banned residents from enjoying the shores of Lake Victoria.

A great start to all of these new World Shapers Clubs – don’t you agree?!

Other reports from John and Jane tell of more children attending services at St. John’s Church in the village. More families coming AND 7 new, young believers to be baptized in January!! We believe a revival is beginning among the children! More on that next month.

Keep praying! Oh, let’s do that better and make Mamma Esther happy, “PRAYMORE!” It’s the “water” of your prayers on the seeds that have been planted that will continue to bring in the harvest in Uganda...TY, LORD!

…for such a (pivotal) time as this!
